Cracow Guide

“The world is a book and those who do not travel read only a page“ St. Augustine

... and if you have not been to Cracow yet, a whole chapter from the book is missing. I will be happy to help you catch up with this part of the story.

A tour of Cracow with me is a memorable journey in time, during which nobody gets bored. Working as a Cracow guide is not only my profession, but also my enormous passion. See Cracow: explore the Old Town within its medieval boundaries, the Main Market Square with the world-famous St. Mary’s Church and the Cloth Hall. Follow the Royal Route and you will come to the Wawel Hill where the Polish national treasure is: the Royal Castle and the Royal Cathedral – the coronation and burial place of Polish kings and queens.

Cracow houses many universities, including the Jagiellonian University – the oldest university in Poland and the second oldest university in Central Europe.

Sightseeing Cracow means also visiting the fascinating District of Kazimierz, where for ages Christian and Jewish cultures were flourishing side by side. When you stroll along the picturesque streets of Kazimierz and enjoy the atmosphere of this unique place, you go past both: synagogues and prayer houses - an outstanding collection of monuments of Jewish sacred architecture (Jewish District of Kazimierz), and churches (Christian District of Kazimierz).

Cracow was an eye-witness to the pain of its inhabitants suffering terribly during World War II, e.g. the District of Kazimierz, former Jewish Ghetto area, the Eagle Pharmacy, Oskar Schindler’s Factory, former Kraków-Płaszów Nazi Concentration Camp.

Nowa Huta, the youngest District of Cracow, was supposed to embody a typical modern communist city pattern and be a birthplace of a new socialist society. Now is considered to be a monument of the communist times, and represents another interesting visage of Krakow.

Cracow guided tours: the Old Town Route (with The Royal Route), the University Route, Jewish Heritage (e.g. the Jewish District of Kazimierz), times of World War II (Podgórze District of Cracow and Oskar Schindler’s Factory, Retracing Schindler’s List), the Christian District of Kazimierz, Nowa Huta - Socialist and Communist Heritage, the Art Nouveau Route, Pope John Paul II Route.
